300 Days of Beer – Day 219

Day 219 – 2nd July 2016

300BeersIt’s July now, dear readers. Today’s weather suggested otherwise though – in about ten minutes it went from sunny to heavy rain and wind back to blinding sunlight! Ordinarily, I wouldn’t be too bothered by mental weather, but today I was on a footgolfing mission in Chester. Luckily, the rain stopped at the right time to give us the perfect weather window for the nine holes. Much fun was had (even though I came in last after a Rory McIlroy-esque collapse) and I would seriously recommend it to anyone. To celebrate my disappointment, tonight’s beer is from the Morland brewery, and rather than being speckled, it’s their ‘Old Golden Hen’. Golden by name and golden by nature, this is a crisp, sweet ale made with Galaxy hops from Tasmania. Yum. So, now for website overload – if you want to see what footgolf is all about (in the UK), then head to http://www.ukfootgolf.com, and if it’s just beer you care about, then you just need to go over to http://www.oldspeckledhen.co.uk
